Life is too short… so do what you love, be with people who make you happy, live simply, try new things, and SMILE!
That’s my motto. Some folks think my lifestyle is crazy, while others think I’m pretty lucky.
October 1, 2011, was my wife, Gayla, and my first official day of becoming full-time RVers. It was liberating to sell most of our possessions and move into our 389 sq ft of our 2003 Alfa SeeYa. Our careers were changing and it was the perfect time in our lives to set out on our adventure.
We modified furnishings in our coach to make a perfect home office for the two of us. We obviously aren’t retired, so we have to make a living. We chose a work-from-anywhere lifestyle.
Nowadays, we don’t drive our RV much. Instead we choose to overland in our 1998 Jeep Wrangler with our penthouse suite (CVT rooftop tent). (Update: 2024, we now travel in a converted ambulance named: Clifford.) You can catch or Been There Doing That adventures on our travel website and our podcast.
Our “day job” is our virtual assistant business, Scrivener Solutions. My wife heads up our company helping small businesses with the behind the scenes tasks related to content marketing. I’m the behind the scenes, behind the scenes guy. I edit podcasts, help with clients’ YouTube channels, and help with photo editing or the occasional photo shoot.
They say that in order to gain a following, you’ve got to focus on one thing. Well…that’s not me. I’ve decided not to listen to those “they sayers” and do what I like to do.
If there’s a market for a guitar playing, picture taking mountain man hamvangelist…well…look no further.
I tend to go in cycles between my four obsessions…music, photography, HAM radio, and leather work. I can’t just pick one. So I decided not to. All four are a big part of who I am. Why should I make a choice?
I’ve had separate websites to keep my interests apart, but I decided that was too much hassle. It was like I was trying to maintain four different personalities.
It was time to just be me. So here it is…
If you like my music stuff, you may be interested in the photos and videos I share of the various shows I’ve played in. Who knows, maybe you’d enjoy catching one of my shows.
Perhaps you’re a fellow hamvangelist (amateur radio operator) and you want to get some ideas from my mobile or portable operations. Catch some of my musings in my HAM world and then I’ll see you on the radio.
My collection of photos will be growing on this site as Gayla and I travel to some wonderfully remote places. Many of the photos will be available for digital download purchase.
The thing that I don’t get tired of is leather work. I’ll share different styles of leather bags, knife sheaths, etc. The mountain man side of me has me working up fur trade era hunting bags and accoutrements.
That’s me. Hope you find something you enjoy.
If you haven’t had enough of me so far, feel free to follow me on any of the socials where the cool kids hang out.
