Nonetheless, we got up early on a Saturday morning and drove two hours for this?
YES!!!
The Joplin Hamfest is one the more organized hamfest in southwest Missouri. Furthermore I look forward to going to this every year. This year it was held at the Jack Lawton Convention Center just south of Joplin, MO. in a nearby town of Saginaw, MO. New venue, new vendors, new people, new friends to chat with. The previous venue was huge and lots of space for everyone. The Jack Lawton Convention Center is a bit smaller and not so much parking but non the less there was a great turn out at the event.
However I even ran into some of my Ham friends from the Northern part of Missouri that made the trek down just to go to this hamfest.
Additionally, I am looking forward to seeing everyone again next year at this wonderful hamfest….
